Collaborative Robot

What is collaborative robot?

A collaborative robot also known as cobot, is a robot that has the capacity of learning many tasks in other to help human being. The development of modern technology such as cognitive computing, mobile technology, touch technology and machine vision has made it possible for small robots to be conscious of their environs and do multiple tasks safely that is close to human workers.

collaborative robots are envisioned to interact with humans in shared space to work securely nearby. collaborative robots stand in contrast to traditional industrial robots, which are intended to function separately with protection assured by separation from social links. With sensors and other design features such as rounded edges and lightweight materials, collaborative robots can interrelate directly with humans. Service robots, which are for domestic and professional use, can be considered to be collaborative robots as they are planned to function together with humans. Collaborative robots can perform many functions, and it can be used to power repetitive and tasks that are not ergonomic such as fetching and carrying weighty parts, machine feeding, and final assembly.  Collaborative robots enable electronics manufacturers to extend robotics to final finishing tasks and quality inspection. Collaborative robots when working together with human workers can quickly learn tasks through demonstration and support of learning.

Many industrial robots are still independent, very expensive, large and stays behind barriers for security reasons. However, industrial robot has played a crucial part in the motorized industry and their high cost and multifaceted programming necessities have restricted their use in the other industries.

Collaborative robots are deliberately intended to address this fear. Collaborative robots are not designed to supplement the human workers capacities nor take the place of human worker.  This technology called Collaborative robots takes the form of arm that provide workers with an extra hand in their worker, that is, to make the work easy.

Today, these robots are mostly used in industries, such as supply chain management, manufacturing, healthcare etc. they have gradually lowered the required power than their independent counterparts which use collision detection to avert damage to their human coworkers and other Collaborative robots

Collaborative robot is the essential management software for flexible, coworking spaces, office hubs around the globe. Therefore, whether you opened a just little creative space or run a multi-location office hub, the collaborative robots are the best tools to help you manage your area more effectively and efficiently.

The well-known Collaborative robot’s production company includes Rethink Robotics, Kuka, Franka, Universal Robots etc.
